Terms of Use

1. Adherence to the BYUH Honor Code and Acceptable Use Policies are required.

2. Customers must ensure that current anti-virus software and the latest Windows patches are installed. ITS reserves the right to disable any network port or refuse service where suspicious activity affecting other network patrons is taking place. Some of these activities include: file sharing, gaming, viewing large video files or viruses.

3. Personal software installed onto your computer is your responsibility. Software installed must meet legal licensing requirements by the manufacturer. Any illegal software found on your computer will be referred to the Honor Code Office for further review and the patron held accountable.

4. It is the responsibility of the patron to backup any personal data or software. ITS will not be held accountable for any data loss or problems caused from personal software.

5. Computer Support

  • All technicians are allowed to service computers that are property of BYU-Hawaii Campus.
  • Computer Support is provided campus wide as a service in case where internet or network troublshooting is necessary. Support does not include personal computers. If the customer is unable to connect to the internet due to their personal computer, the technician will recommend the appropriate action to the customer.

6. Users must authenticate to the university network by logging into Clean Access. To access the network, open a Web Browser to http://www.byuh.edu. You will be redirected to an authentication screen, and prompted to enter your CES Net ID and password. If you do not have a CES Net ID and password, a guest account is provided at the bottom of the screen.

7. Users should keep their CES Net ID and password confidential. Do not share your password with anyone. Your Net ID identifies you. Someone with access to your Net ID and password can use your account and anything they do will be traced back to you. If your Net ID is used in an abusive manner, you will be held responsible.

8. The network connection may not be used to attempt unauthorized access to any system or restricted parts of the University networks, to monitor University network traffic or to interfere with the operation of the University networks.

9. Rogue wireless routers and access points are not allowed or supported on the network. Any user who connects a wireless router to the network will be held responsible for the costs of restoring service if a disruption of service occurs.

10. Users are not allowed to pull their own network lines. Please contact Networking if lines need to be pulled, at (808)675-3158.
